The facility is equipped with an automated, single stream sorting line for maximum recovery and diversion rates from the landfill. Rob Dorinson, Small Business Person of the Year 2009 for the State of Nevada, is majority owner and President of Evergreen Recycling. Dorinson founded the company in 1997 and has grown the company from an initial five employees to over 85 employees today. In 2003, Rob was a founding member of the US Green Building Council and began providing recycling services to LEED projects soon there after. Since then Evergreen has become the official recycler for the world renown City Center project under construction on the Las Vegas strip. In 2005, Rob Dorinson was appointed to the Southern Nevada Recycling Advisory Committee and in 2007 he recommended numerous changes in regulations to the Clark County Commission to increase state-wide participation in recycling efforts. Today, many of these suggestions are being tested in several pilot programs in the county. We pride ourselves on superior service, our team of experts, green initiatives, state of the art equipment and technology. We are constant advocates for resource recovery and conservation, said Dorinson.

Evergreen Recycling works in partnership with many commercial, industrial, construction, office, hospitality and municipal sectors of the local economy. Evergreen has been a strong community leader and has also established local closed loop recycling markets that serve as national sustainable business models. Southern Nevada is one of the fastest growing areas of the country with one of the lowest recycling rates in the country. The area has also suffered from significant environmental contamination associated with a legacy of poor waste management. Evergreen Recycling's team of over 85 employees have worked tirelessly to develop a business that has changed the state's waste management practices by supporting innovative green building and recycling programs.

Once Evergreen collects commingled materials from various customers across Southern Nevada, these materials are transported to our recycling facility where they are sorted, processed, baled and returned to the domestic and global marketplace for re-manufacture and reuse. Recyclable materials include all ferrous and non-ferrous metals, paper, all plastics, cardboard, wood, pallets, carpet, carpet pad, dry wall, concrete, asphalt, glass and now green waste. Evergreen has recently established an exclusive partnership with the Moapa Band of Paiute Indians in Southern Nevada for a new green waste composting program being developed on the reservation.

Evergreen's recycling facility is one of the only fully licensed and permitted facilities by the applicable regulatory agencies. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has praised our facility and reported, Yours is probably the most interesting facility we have ever seen. We were impressed by the numbers and types of materials you are able to recycle. The EPA has recently awarded Evergreen Recycling with the 2009 Environmental Achievement Award for our efforts and initiatives.

Evergreen Recycling is an exemplary model for environmental sustainability and responsible business practices that can be applied in any business or industry interested in green initiatives and community partners that can deliver and implement those initiatives.
